
California's landmark climate change law, AB32āthe Global Warming Solutions Actā has the potential to lead other states toward adopting a robust, progressive set of regulations that could dramatically reduce this nation's carbon footprint. Internationally, AB32 is being very carefully monitored, because if California can pull this off, other nations may replicate the policy.
Professor Frank Convery is Heritage Trust professor of Environmental Policy, and Director of Urban Institute Ireland University College Dublin (NUID-UCD). He has a long history in European environmental economics and policy work and has been involved in numerous successful European research projects. As a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Environment Agency (EEA), he chaired the committee overseeing the reports the Agency commissioned and published on the uses of environmental taxation and voluntary approaches in environmental policy.
He will join us at AOL's West Coast Headquarters to talk about the European perspective on AB32 and the potential implications it will have across the globe.
