Palo Alto PD: Woman Knocked To Ground When Thug Steals Necklace
The robbery victim was walking on Wilkie Way when crime occurred.

Palo Alto police are investigating a Thursday robbery in which a man ripped a gold necklace from a woman’s neck. Police said the robbery occurred just after 6 p.m. in the 4000 block of Wilkie Way, just north of the intersection at West Meadow Drive.
Police said the victim, a woman in her forties, was walking north on the east side of the sidewalk when the suspect ran up behind her, grabbed her around the neck, ripped her gold necklace off, pushed her to the ground and then fled on foot.
Police said the suspect didn’t say anything and did not show a weapon.

The victim suffered an abrasion on her neck caused by the removal of the chain, but she didn’t require medical attention.
The suspect is described as muscular man about 5 feet 8 inches tall wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
