Fundraiser Underway For Father Of 5, Grandpa To 2 Killed Outside Curtner Ave. Credit Union

BREAKING: A car crashed into Alliance Credit Union last week and struck the hard-working family man, Leonardo Jeronimo.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – A fund has been set up for the family of a man struck and killed by a caroutside a San Jose credit union last week.

Leonardo Jeronimo was working outside Alliance Credit Union's office at 265 Curtner Ave., where a car crashed into the building around 11:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, police said.

Jeronimo was one of two construction workers struck by the car and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The credit union created a fund to help support Jeronimo's wife, five children and two grandchildren. Donations can be made online at https://www.youcaring.com/familyofleonardojeronimo-693129.

"He was a very caring, funny, loving man who always made his family his priority. He was hardworking and wanted to give them the best," according to a post on the company's Facebook page.

All of the credit union's offices were closed Friday in observance of Veterans Day, according to the company's Facebook page.

The online fundraiser has collected $4,783 of its $5,000 goal as of this afternoon.

Credit union members can also contribute to the fund through a money transfer that can be arranged by calling (800) 232-8669.

The vehicle collided with another car before crashing into the building, police said.

Both drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to police.

The other construction worker was sent to a hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening, according to police.

No one was arrested or cited in connection with the collision and crash, police said.

Drugs or alcohol didn't appear to be a factor in the incident, according to police. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Police Department's traffic investigations unit at (408) 277-4654.
