Just this last week, while cleaning a client's sofa and an area rug, I discovered something that had been hidden most likely for decades.
I was called to do a job in the San Pedro area, by a company that manages elderly people, and their finances. When I got to the job I was greeted by a couple of caretakers. The resident was an elderly lady with obvious signs of sever dementia.
Without going into too much detail, I discovered 32 one once gold coins, that had been hidden for decades. They were in plastic sleeves that stated falling apart as soon as I picked them up.
I immediately handed them over to the care takers who notified the management company. Price for an ounce of gold on this day was $1,251.00 an ounce. For a total of $40,032.00.
I've come to discover that this is a common problem with the elderly. Who decide to hide valuables and eventually either die, forget about it, or develop dementia, and lose track of them.
So if you've stashed some valuables like this, you may want to think about putting them into a safety deposit box or something of the sort before it's too late.
Just my tip for the day.
