Ramzi Awwad Named Deputy Director Of Public Works In Palos Verdes

The City is pleased to announce the selection of Ramzi Awwad as Deputy Director of Public Works!

Mr. Awwad joins the City from Arlington County, Virginia, where he serves as engineering bureau chief. He assumes a position that has been vacant for more than two years and will lead the department as the City begins a search to replace former Public Works Director Elias Sassoon, who left the City in August to hold the same position in El Segundo.

Mr. Awwad brings 16 years of experience in planning, engineering, constructing, and maintaining public works infrastructure in Virginia, Arizona, and Indiana. He holds a master of science degree in transportation engineering and a bachelor of science degree in engineering from Purdue University.

Mr. Awwad’s first day will be September 28.
