South Bay By Jackie Weekend Guide August 24, 2017

The South Bay by Jackie Weekend Guide offers comprehensive coverage of the greater South Bay area.

Remember how you felt as a kid when summer break was coming to an end
and you only had a couple more weeks of freedom? That’s how I feel now.
This is the final week for some of the big seasonal events, including
the concerts and movies on the beach and several movies in the parks.
There are also a few ‘end of summer celebrations’. (Who in their right
mind would celebrate the end of summer?!?) I know, I know, all good
things must end….. but there is a bright side. September and October
usually bring the most gorgeous weather of the year and there are lots
of big, big, BIG, fun-filled events leading up to the holiday season.
(Did I just say holiday season?) Anyway, there is a ton of fun to be had
over the next few days and we still have the big Labor Day Weekend to
look forward to. I hope to see you out there!

Scholb Premium Ales presents Blowout Bingo today,
Thursday, August 24. Everybody loves playing Bingo and it’s even more

Bingo….Bingo & Beer….either way, it’s a guaranteed fun night out…..
and who knows, you might win something! Doors open at 3 p.m. with Bingo

conversation with the Neptunian Woman’s Club members. This will be a
great opportunity to learn about the club that has been a Manhattan

on Friday, August 25 between the hours of 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.
Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment
with officers checking drivers for proper licensing delaying motorists
only momentarily. When possible, specially trained officers will be
available to evaluate those suspected of drug-impaired driving, which
now accounts for a growing number of impaired driving crashes. Drivers
caught driving impaired can expect the impact of a DUI arrest to include
jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes, and other expenses that can exceed
$10,000, not to mention the embarrassment when friends and family find
out.
