Kiddie Academy is Donating Masks to Healthcare Workers Around the Region

Pasadena, CA, April 9, 2020 — Today, on behalf of the preschool students they represent, a band of masked teachers and owners of Kiddie Academy in Pasadena, Fontana, and Rancho Cucamonga, CA delivered packages of KN95 masks to a half dozen medical centers in the region —Kaiser Permanente, Alhambra Hospital, Patton Hospital, Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Pasadena and San Antonio Hospital in Upland, among others. More will be on the way next week.
“In the packages are thank you cards written by our preschoolers to the health care workers. These kids are so natural at bringing smiles to faces, and we wanted to help them bring that gift to those who need it most right now,” shares Jen Moore, co-owner of the three Kiddie Academy schools in Southern California.
“Fortunately, we’ve never before has a hospital ask the community for masks, and we hope they never have to again. But this time they did, and on behalf of the hundreds of families in our schools, we had to say yes.”
Staying open and being supportive: Matt and Jen’s three Kiddie Academies have remained open to serve the essential workers whose families need childcare for their children during the statewide state of emergency. They recently received a license to accept up to 24 school-age children displaced by school closures, in addition to the infant to pre-K programs normally offered. Safety First: Kiddie Academy maintains strict guidelines for maintaining a sanitary environment including reduced child-to-teacher ratios, frequent handwashing procedures, continual professional sanitizing of the facility including toys and equipment, and enforcing a strict no-sick policy with all children. Distance learning programs are also available for children unable to attend during Safer At Home.
