Pasadena Stakes Out Its Own Corner of LA Tech Week (pasadenanow.com) — Pasadena is carving out its own slice of LA Tech Week with four days of startup, AI, climate, and space-tech events centered around South Lake Avenue and Old Pasadena. Innovate Pasadena is coordinating mostly free sessions, from a healthcare AI talk to a SpaceTech showcase and rooftop closing party, all requiring advance registration through its online calendar.
   

2. Pasadena man accused of throwing alcohol on officers, threatening to set them on fire (pasadenastarnews.com) — Pasadena police say four officers suffered minor injuries after a 47-year-old local man allegedly doused two of them with rubbing alcohol, threatened to ignite it with a lighter, and then fought officers during his arrest on Ladera Street. The suspect, reported by family as acting erratically, was Tased, treated at a hospital, and is now held in Pasadena jail on $1.1 million bail.
   

3. Rebuilding Eaton Canyon Nature Center: LA County seeking donations to plug cost gap (pasadenastarnews.com) — Los Angeles County is working to rebuild the fire-destroyed Eaton Canyon Nature Center in Pasadena with a new, fire-resilient stone-and-steel design, but still needs roughly half of the $32 million cost. With $16 million already secured by Assemblymember John Harabedian, D-Pasadena, officials are now asking residents, businesses, and philanthropies to donate and are hosting public meetings on the redesign and landscape plans.
   

4. Honey the Pig Finds New Home After Pasadena Humane Appeal (mynewsla.com) — A 100-pound pig named Honey has been successfully adopted after Pasadena Humane's public appeal, highlighting both the shelter's role serving Pasadena and nearby cities and local rules that actually prohibit pet pigs in Pasadena. The humane society reminds residents that pig ownership is tightly regulated by city and stresses that these smart, social animals require significant space, care, and veterinary support.
   

5. Pavement Picassos : Pasadena Chalk Festival is back for a 33rd year (pasadenaweekly.com) — Pasadena's beloved Chalk Festival returns for its 33rd year this weekend, shifting from Father's Day to an autumn run at Brookside Park next to Kidspace. More than 500 artists will create 200 murals on Saturday and Sunday, offering free, family‑friendly art viewing in a cooler, greener setting near the Rose Bowl.
