Caller Claimed He Planted Bomb At Petaluma Office Building
The bombs allegedly were in the TWiT Brick House at 140 Keller St.

Petaluma police searched a podcast company’s office Monday afternoon after an anonymous male caller claimed he planted pipe bombs that would kill everyone inside.
Police received the call around 4:35 p.m. Monday from someone who said he was upset with his whole life and with the company TwiT.tv, which produces podcasts including “This Week in Tech,” police Sgt. Ron Klein said.
The caller said the bombs allegedly in the TWiT Brick House at 140 Keller St. would detonate in three hours and he threatened to shoot all of the occupants of the building before then, Klein said. Police contacted the manager of the company and searched the building.

TWiT’s employees were not ordered to evacuate but were advised that it might be best if they left, Klein said. Most employees chose to leave the building.
Police did not locate anything suspicious during a visual inspection or during a second search with the help of two U.S. Coast Guard dogs trained in explosives material detection, Klein said.

The business was declared safe at 8 p.m., he said.
Police have not traced the caller’s phone number and do not know who made the call or why TWiT was targeted, Klein said. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detective Nick McGowan at (707) 778-4372.
