CHP Reopens Hwy 101 After Multi-Vehicle, Injury Crash Near Petaluma

One vehicle involved was a big-rig hauling autos.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – All lanes of northbound U.S. Highway 101 have reopened this afternoon following a multi-vehicle crash in Petaluma, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The six-vehicle collision involving a big-rig carrier hauling cars occurred around 11:50 a.m. and shut down all northbound lanes of Highway 101 south of Petaluma Boulevard North.

CHP Officer Jon Sloat said investigators are gathering information at a hospital from the people who were injured in the crash.

The crash also caused a backup on southbound Highway 101. One northbound lane reopened at 1:07 p.m. and all lanes reopened at 2:24 p.m., according to the CHP.
