Coroner Identifies Petaluma Woman Run Over By Her Own Car
The 72-year-old homeowner was rushed to a hospital where she later died.
PETALUMA, CA — A Petaluma woman who died after she was run over by her own car Friday was identified this week by the Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner's Office as Mitra Khazal.
Petaluma police and fire personnel responded at 5:50 p.m. Friday to Glen Eagle Drive and Country Club Drive to find Khazal, 72, trapped beneath her car.
Police determined her car somehow rolled out of her driveway and onto Glen Eagle Drive, then started down a hill.

"The victim attempted to give chase, fell to the ground and was ran over and became trapped," Petaluma police Sgt. Walt Spiller said.
Khazal was conscious and alert when fire department personnel freed her from beneath her car, police said.

Khazal owned a home on Glen Eagle Drive in Country Club Estates.
