Moonalice, a psychedelic, roots-rock band of seasoned musicians is opening for New Riders of the Purple Sage at the Mystic Theatre in Petaluma on Nov. 28.
Every Moonalice show features an original art poster, created by a well-known artist, and with its own unique Moonalice “legend,”and a copy of the poster will be given free to all attendees.

Mystic Theatre:
McNear’s Mystic Theatre is located in historic downtown Petaluma, California and is described by many as the North Bay’s Premier Music Venue.
Built in 1911, The Mystic Theatre originally was host to live Vaudeville entertainment and in 1992 was renovated to accommodate live music performances for up to 550 guests.
There is a full bar and restaurant access making McNear’s Mystic Theatre first choice for a great night out.
New Riders of the Purple Sage
The long-awaited return of The New Riders of the Purple Sage has fans in a psychedelic/country head spin. Guitarist David Nelson and pedal steel wizard Buddy Cage will represent the NRPS catalog along with Michael Falzarano (guitar, mandolin and vocals), Johnny Markowski (drums and vocals) and Ron Penque (bass and vocals). You may recognize Falzarano from Hot Tuna, Markowski from Stir Fried and Penque from Melvin Seals and JGB. Original NRPS bass player Dave Torbert, drummer Spencer Dryden and co-founder John Dawson have passed away, Nonetheless, the new lineup vows to keep the NRPS spirit and tunes alive by taking them to fans everywhere.

Moonalice plays mostly original material mixed with some covers, and during their extended freeform jams the band moves as one, drawing from many musical genres honed from years of experience playing with various major acts.
Band members: Barry Sless - lead guitar, pedal steel guitar, bass (Phil Lesh & Friends, David Nelson Band, Kingfish, Cowboy Jazz), Pete Sears - keyboards, bass, guitar, vocals (Sam Gopal Dream, Rod Stewart, original Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna, Phil Lesh & Friends, John Lee Hooker), Roger McNamee - rhythm and lead guitar, vocals, bass (Guff, The Engineers, Random Axes, Flying Other Brothers) , and John Molo - drums, vocals (Bruce Hornsby & The Range, John Fogerty, Phil Lesh & Friends, The Other Ones).
The band manager is Big Steve Parish - Road Scholar, Medicine Man, Story Teller, Grateful Dead family member, and co-founder of Jerry Garcia Band.
