Driver Rescued From Flooded Petaluma Roadway: Police
The person "drove around the closed road barricades and ended up in a flooded ditch," police said.

PETALUMA, CA — A driver was rescued Tuesday afternoon from a flooded Petaluma roadway, police said. Stony Point Road remains closed from Petaluma Boulevard North to Pepper Road but the person "drove around the closed road barricades and ended up in a flooded ditch on Stony Point Road," police said.
Emergency personnel with Petaluma Fire Department, Rancho Adobe Fire Department and Petaluma Public Works crews rescued the driver and brought her to safety, according to police.
Petaluma Police Department traffic officers are investigating the incident that happened sometime around 4:30 p.m., according to a Nixle alert.

"The road closures occur when the conditions are too dangerous to travel upon upon a roadway," police said. "Drivers should not attempt to drive around road closures. Drivers will be cited if they are observed driving around road closures. Please drive with caution during inclement weather."
