Dryer Fire Causes $10K In Damages To Sonoma County Business

PETALUMA, CA -- A fire that began in a clothes dryer caused $10,000 in damage at a Petaluma uniform store this morning, firefighters reported. Firefighters responded to Lace House Linen at 949 Lindberg Lane to reports of a fire in a large commercial building.

Employees told emergency responders that the fire was in the back of the building, and firefighters went to the area to find a large commercial dryer full of burning towels.

Fire officials directed employees to evacuate the building and contained the fire to the dryer.

A towel accidentally entered a burner in the dryer and caused the machine to ignite, fire officials said.

No one was injured in the fire, and fire officials said the potential loss could have reached millions of dollars, but was limited to $10,000.
