Duo Busted In Catalytic Converter Theft, Petaluma Police Say
The victim got her catalytic converter back and the suspects in the theft were taken to jail, Petaluma police said.
PETALUMA, CA — Petaluma police recovered a stolen catalytic converter Sunday and arrested the suspects in the theft.
Shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday, a woman reported that the catalytic converter was stolen off her car while it was parked in an industrial area on Clegg Court. She also gave a description of the car the suspects were driving.
Officers were searching the area when the victim called back and told dispatchers she possibly found the suspect's car near Petaluma Boulevard North and Magnolia Avenue.

Officers stopped the car near Magnolia Avenue and Lohrman Lane and detained the female driver, Brezjana Wilson, 26, of Petaluma, and her passenger, 35-year-old Oakland man Daveion Lyons.
"During the contact, officers located a catalytic converter and numerous battery-powered saws, hand tools and floor jacks in the rear passenger compartment of the vehicle as well as a small amount of suspected methamphetamine," Petaluma police Sgt. Ryan DeBaeke said.

Officers brought the catalytic converter back to the victim who confirmed it was hers, DeBaeke said.
Wilson and Lyons confirmed their involvement in the theft and were arrested on suspicion of grand theft, conspiracy, and possession of a controlled substance, DeBaeke said.
The pair was later booked into Sonoma County jail.
Wilson remained in custody Monday morning but Lyons has since been released, according to jail records.
