The Petaluma Valley Petanque Club will host a demonstration of the popular outdoor bowling game on Saturday (April 9), from 1 to 4 p.m. at Oak Hill Park.
The public is invited to participate in the game, which is a little like bocce, a bit like horseshoes and very easy to learn.
The club is in its third year of play on a gravel court at the park. Petanque, which originated in France, involves tossing metal balls, about the size of a large orange, toward a small target ball while knocking an opponent’s balls out of the way.
