The Art of Comics & Cartooning

This class will provide an introduction to the basics of comic book art and cartooning. Students can expect a fun and friendly class, learning how to create your own characters, design a comic strip and develop your own story ideas. Capture facial expressions, hone your drawing skills and learn all the tools of the cartooning trade! You will produce a finished comic strip and comic book artwork of your own. 

Ages: 7-9

Instructor Pete McDonnell is a freelance cartoonist who’s created illustrations for graphic novels, comic books, storyboards and more. He has taught comic book art at the Academy of Art in San Francisco.
