Fire Along Hwy 101 In Petaluma Damages Trees, Guardrail: Reports

BREAKING: The blaze broke out at about 3:18 p.m. Monday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A vegetation fire Monday afternoon along U.S. Highway 101 in Petaluma was affecting traffic, with at least one blocked, according to the California Highway Patrol. The fire off southbound 101 just north of the E. Washington Street off-ramp broke out at about 3:18 p.m., CHP reported.

Trees on the right shoulder of the highway caught fire, sending smoke across the entire roadway.

The fire was brought under control at 3:52 p.m., according to CHP.
