Flooding Reported On Several Sonoma County Roads

California Highway Patrol was tracking multiple reports of roadway flooding Friday in the county.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Heavy rains Friday were causing roadway flooding across Sonoma County.

Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety advised at 2:37 p.m. that Rohnert Park Expressway was closed between Rancho Verde Mobile Home Park and Stony Point Road due to flooding.

As of 1:41 p.m. Friday, the California Highway Patrol was aware of flooding or impending flooding at the following locations:

  • Fallon Road at state Highway 1 north of Tomales, where a Sig-alert was issued at 1:28 p.m. because the road was impassable and was closed in both directions
  • Freestone Valley Ford Road at Bodega Highway, where both sides of the road were flooded and vehicles were stuck in floodwaters. CHP says Valley Ford Road just east of state Highway 1 is shut down and a Sig-Alert has been issued for SR-1.
  • Sexton Road at Bodega Highway, where flooding was blocking both lanes
  • Green Valley Road at State Highway 116, where the double-yellow line was not visible
  • 3000 block of Bloomfield Road at Blucher Valley Road in West County, where 2 feet of water was covering the roadway in two separate areas about 1/4 mile apart
  • West Railroad Avenue at Old Redwood Highway, where the roadway is closed due to 3 inches of standing water about three car lengths long
  • State Highway 121 at Sears Point Drive, where the southbound lane was completely flooded
  • Old Redwood Highway, where about a half-mile north of Mendocino Avenue the northbound lane was impassable and the southbound lane was also starting to flood
  • Laguna Road at Trenton Road, where water was going over the roadway
  • Old Redwood Highway at Angela Drive
  • W. Sierra Avenue at Stony Point Road in Cotati, where the roadway in front of the golf course was completely underwater
