Know This Man? He Is Petaluma PD Suspect In Smash-and-Grab
A woman's purse was stolen from her vehicle, and her credit card later was used to buy a carton of Newports.

From The Petaluma Police Department:
On January 29, 2015 at approximately 4:15 PM a resident found her vehicle’s passenger window broken on the 800 block of Walnut Street. The resident had left her purse in her vehicle, which contained various credit cards. It appears the suspect broke the window and reached inside, stealing the purse and its contents.
Shortly after the theft of the purse, police were notified that one of the stolen credit cards had been used at a local convenience store to purchase a carton of Newport cigarettes. Police were able to obtain surveillance video of the purchase at the store.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, 35-40 years old, dark hair with a mustache. The suspect was wearing a black tee-shirt with red colored writing on the front.

Residents are reminded to always lock their vehicles and take valuable items out. Most crimes that are committed are crimes of opportunity.
