Man Robbed Of Wallet, Cell Phone At Gunpoint In Petaluma: Police
The victim was struck in the face with a metal object that appeared to be a gun, police said.
PETALUMA, CA — A man reported he was robbed of his cell phone and wallet at gunpoint Tuesday night in Petaluma, police said.
The victim called 911 at 9:08 p.m. Tuesday and said the robber assaulted him with a gun, Petaluma police Sgt. Ryan Suhrke said in a news release.
Officers responded and spoke with the victim, who was suffering from wounds to his face. The victim told police he was walking on St. Francis Drive near Caulfield Lane when he was approached by a male of an unknown race.

"The suspect approached the victim from behind and pushed him against a wall where he pressed a suspected firearm to his back," Suhrke said. "The suspect demanded the victim hand over his wallet and cell phone."
Shortly after, the suspect struck the victim in the face with a metal object that appeared to be a gun. The suspect then took the victim's belongings and ran to a nearby dark-colored sedan and took off toward Caulfield Lane, police said.

The suspect was described as an unknown race male who weighed approximately 200 pounds, was 5 feet 8 inches tall and wore dark clothing.
The Petaluma Fire Department responded to treat the victim and paramedics ultimately took him to a hospital for additional medical care.
