Man Shoplifts Pricey Battery Packs From Petaluma Store: Police

PETALUMA, CA -- Police in Petaluma have released surveillance photos of a man suspected of stealing some expensive battery packs from a local hardware. According to police, the shoplifting at Friedman's Home Improvement, 429 N. McDowell Blvd., happened at 9:32 a.m. Thursday, July 27, when the suspect, described as a heavyset Latino man between 20 and 3o years old, allegedly walked out of the store without paying for three Milwaukee battery packs.
The suspect was seen getting into a gold GMC Yukon, although information about the SUV's license plates was not immediately known, said Petaluma police Sgt. Aaron Garihan.
The suspect had black hair and was wearing tan pants, an orange long-sleeved shirt and black shoes, Garihan said.

Anyone with information about the incident or who saw someone matching the suspect's description in the area around the time of the alleged shoplifting, is asked to call Community Service Officer K. Mota at 707-781-1243.
