No Tsunami Threat To California From Earthquakes Off Oregon
A series of earthquakes posed no tsunami threat, the California Office of Emergency Services said.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — Two 5.5-magnitude earthquakes were recorded Tuesday afternoon off the coast of Southern Oregon but posed no tsunami danger to California, the California Office of Emergency Services said.
The first pair of quakes struck at 1:30 p.m. and 1:57 p.m. Tuesday about 270 miles west of Coos Bay, Oregon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The shaking continued Tuesday evening off the Oregon Coast; a 4.4-magnitude earthquake was recorded at 3:39 p.m.; a 4.9-magnitude earthquake was recorded at 4:17 p.m., a 5.8-magnitude at 4:36 p.m.; and a 5.7-magnitude earthquake was recorded at 5:21 p.m, the USGS said.

There was no tsunami warning, advisory, watch or threat from the swarm of earthquakes, according to the National Weather Service's U.S. Tsunami Warning System.
