Organized Retail Theft Suspects Arrested In Petaluma, Police Say

PETALUMA, CA — Four suspects believed to have been captured on video committing retail thefts at several stores were booked into Sonoma County jail Monday after Petaluma police caught up with them. Police received a call at 4:29 p.m. from Dick's Sporting Goods, 401 Kenilworth Drive, that three people were in the store attempting to return merchandise stolen hours prior from Dick's in Fairfield, Petaluma police Sgt. Lance Novello said.
"The subjects matched the suspects caught on video surveillance during the Fairfield theft and were able to return the stolen merchandise for gift cards due to lack of receipts," Novello said. "Officers arrived just as the subjects began to drive away from the parking lot and initiated a traffic stop."
Officers made contact with the suspects in the theft and identified them as 21-year-old Jovon Jenkins of Oakland, 22-year-old Doshanie Johnson of Vallejo, 18-year-old Jordan Henry of Oakland and 19-year-old Rayshaan Johnson of Oakland.

Jenkins was found to be on probation for similar crimes, and when officers searched Jenkins’ car, they found the gift cards, tagged clothing believed to be stolen from other stores, and a police style baton, Novello said.
After speaking with personnel from both Dick's stores, Jenkins, Doshanie Johnson and Jordan Henry were arrested on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary, Novello said.

Jenkins was additionally arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of the baton, and Rayshaan Johnson was arrested on an outstanding warrant for similar crimes, according to police.
All were booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
