• Sonoma County Library Buys $12.78 Million Petaluma Office Building for New Headquarters (ksro.com) — Sonoma County Library is moving its central headquarters into a newly purchased three-story office building on North McDowell Boulevard, bringing nearly 100 employees into Petaluma. Renovations start in early 2027, with staff expected to move in by October 2027, a shift local business leaders say will help fill office vacancies and strengthen the city's daytime workforce.

• New Route 40X bus service, connecting Sonoma Valley to SMART, now running (sonomanews.com) — A new Sonoma County Transit Route 40X now runs between Sonoma Plaza and downtown Petaluma's SMART station and Transit Mall, with morning and evening trips timed to train schedules. Petaluma riders can use it to connect south to Larkspur or north to Healdsburg, with $2.10 adult fares and free or reduced rates for seniors, youth, veterans, and riders with disabilities.

• Police Drone Finds Wanted Driver Hiding In Petaluma Creek (patch.com) — A pre-dawn police pursuit ended in Petaluma when a wanted parolee crashed near East Washington Avenue and fled on foot before being found hiding in a creek with help from a sheriff's drone. Officers say they recovered a firearm and ammunition from his car, and the 29-year-old driver now faces multiple felony-related charges after being treated at a local hospital.
