1. 4 People, Pets Escape Petaluma Duplex Fire After Smoke Alarms Fail: FD (patch.com) — A fast-moving duplex fire on Park Place Drive in Petaluma forced four residents and their pets to escape as flames spread from the first floor toward the attic and nearby units. Firefighters from multiple agencies contained the blaze in about 20 minutes, rescued additional animals, and reported one minor firefighter injury. Both units were declared unsafe, and the American Red Cross is assisting displaced residents while the cause remains under investigation.
   

2. Rotary Club Rallies Petaluma to Help Fund New Landmark Sculpture (ksro.com) — Petaluma residents are being asked to help raise the final $40,000 needed for the "Spirit of Petaluma Beacon," a lighted sculpture planned for the roundabout at the south end of Petaluma Boulevard. With most funding already secured, the Rotary-led campaign will also add a Peace Pole, selfie spot, and maintenance fund to keep this new gateway artwork shining.

Pianist Oscar Rossignoli Merges Latin Roots and Modern Jazz on Trio Album 'Mar Adentro,' Announces Fall Tour (lemonwire.com) — Petaluma jazz fans can catch pianist Oscar Rossignoli's trio at the Polly Klaas Community Theater on Saturday, Sept. 19, supporting Global Healing and the Polly Klaas Foundation. The tour stop is part of a national run tied to his upcoming album "Mar Adentro," which blends Latin roots, classical training, and modern jazz improvisation.
   

4. Consider the Gourd, Symbol of Harvest (bohemian.com) — Petaluma readers can head to the Petaluma Pumpkin Patch on Stony Point Road for locally grown pumpkins and decorative gourds, or explore other nearby farms across Sonoma, Marin, and Napa.
