Petaluma Couple Killed In Marin County Crash: Coroner’s Office

The couple crashed their SUV into a concrete pillar, police said.

NOVATO, CA — A Petaluma couple were identified Tuesday as the two people who died in a highway crash in Novato over the weekend.

Donald Mardon Rosenthal, 84, and Elsie Maxwell Rosenthal, 70, died on Sunday when they crashed their SUV, according to the Marin County Coroner’s Office.

The California Highway Patrol said they received a call around 12:22 a.m. on Sunday that a silver Toyota Highlander had veered off the roadway on northbound Highway 101 at the Highway 37 connector.

The vehicle crashed into a concrete pillar, police said.

The Rosenthals were pronounced dead at the crash site. The CHP is still investigating the crash.
