PETALUMA, CA -- A severe winter storm is expected to arrive this weekend, and while the Petaluma River isn't expected to flood, there could be some local street flooding and road closures, according to the city's fire department.
City crews are expected to monitor creeks 24 hours a day and take appropriate action, including street closures and evacuation notices as needed.
Residents are advised by the Petaluma Fire Department to monitor the local weather channels on television and radio, and take the appropriate actions to protect yourselves and your property.

Sandbags and sand are available to the public on Hopper Street at the end of Caulfield Lane.
