Petaluma Man Extricated From Truck Crash Near Cotati
The accident was this Friday morning on Highway 101.

A Petaluma man was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital after his Dodge Ram truck crashed on northbound U.S. Highway 101 near Cotati this morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
The 51-year-old man might have suffered a medical emergency, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said. The truck struck the center divider, rode along it for several hundred feet, crossed all lanes and crashed into a retaining wall on the right shoulder near West Sierra Avenue around 7:50 a.m., Sloat said.
he Rancho Adobe Fire Protection District broke a window on the truck to extricate the driver and perform CPR, Sloat said. Rancho Adobe fire Capt. Pete Albini said the driver was unresponsive and was shocked with a defibrillator to restore his heartbeat and had a pulse when he arrived at the hospital.

The crash blocked a lane of the highway for a half-hour, Sloat said.
The driver’s identity and condition were not immediately available.
