Sonoma County Photos Of The Week: Welcome Home, Marina Crossing!
"This will allow us to address Sonoma State's workforce housing needs in an immediate and significant way."
PETALUMA, CA — These photos shared by Sonoma State University show a joyous celebration marked the opening of Marina Crossing Apartments. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday at the five-story, 90-unit complex adjacent to Petaluma Marina. SSU purchased the complex in November 2018 with the approval of the California State University Board of Trustees; in February, SSU took ownership of the project that is designated as housing for SSU faculty and staff.
"This will allow us to address Sonoma State's workforce housing needs in an immediate and significant way," said Sonoma State President Judy K. Sakaki.
With construction complete, residents started moving in this past weekend. Marina Crossing is roughly 10 miles south of campus, is close to SMART train access and is convenient to downtown Petaluma. [Read more about the complex here: Sonoma State Employee Housing Complex Opens In Petaluma]
