Petaluma Police Descend On Home, Arrest 1 On Firearm Charges

SWAT officers and detectives served a search warrant which allegedly yielded an illegal assault rifle, two other guns and marijuana.

PETALUMA, CA — A Petaluma man was arrested when detectives and SWAT officers descended to serve a search warrant Friday morning at a residence in the 500 block of Albert Way. Detectives were acting on information that a resident of the home, Christopher M. Rosen, 36, was possibly in possession of an illegal assault rifle and was suspected of trying to sell firearms via a website, police Lt. Tim Lyons said.

During the service of the warrant at 8:30 a.m. Friday, police detained Rosen and three other people while a search of the residence was conducted. The search turned up an assault rifle determined to be stolen out of a residential burglary in Cloverdale, Lyons said.

Also recovered were two other firearms and over three pounds of marijuana being prepared to be shipped out of state, the lieutenant alleged.

"All of the firearms were loaded and openly displayed in the [Rosen's] bedroom," Lyons said.
