Petaluma Woman Accused Of DUI In Collision With Parked Car: PD
The woman became trapped in her car, while the other car ended up 60 feet from where it was parked, Petaluma police said.
PETALUMA, CA — Two cars were totaled and a Petaluma woman landed herself in the hospital when police say she crashed her car into a parked car early Thursday morning in downtown Petaluma. The woman, identified by police as 24-year-old Lisa O'Neill, is accused of driving under the influence in the incident reported at 2:29 a.m. in the 1200 block of D Street.
Personnel with the city's police and fire departments responded to find O'Neill trapped inside her car, according to a news release from the Petaluma Police Department.
"It was determined that she was driving westbound on D Street, at a high rate of speed, when she struck a parked vehicle and overturned," police officials said in the news release.

After firefighters extricated her from her wrecked car, "officers smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from O’Neill," police officials said.
O'Neill was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was taken to a local hospital, where she was admitted for treatment of moderate injuries, police said.

No one was inside the other car, which reportedly landed 60 feet away from where it had been parked.
Police said both cars were a total loss.
