Possible Mountain Lion Sighting Reported In Petaluma
Police warned people to not approach the animal if seen again.
PETALUMA, CA — A possible mountain lion sighting was reported Tuesday night in Petaluma, the police department warned.
Someone reported the possible sighting in the Westridge neighborhood, near Ridgeview Drive, police said in an alert sent at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.
In the event it was seen again, residents were instructed to not approach the animal but tocall the Petaluma Police Department.

Two months ago — June 29-30 — multiple mountain lion sightings were reported overnight in the city.
Since the most recent possible sighting Tuesday night, police have not warned of additional sightings.
