Possible Threat Against Analy High School Closes Campus

Sebastopol police say school officials decided to cancel classes for the remainder of Tuesday.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — An investigation into a possible threat Tuesday against Analy High School in Sebastopol prompted school officials to close the campus for the remainder of the day. School administrators notified police about "graffiti that indicated a specific threat," according to a Sebastopol Police Department news release.

Officers were dispatched to the scene to investigate whether the graffiti found in a bathroom at the public high school at 6950 Analy Ave. was a credible threat. Additional police resources were also deployed in an immediate response to the possible threat.

Sebastopol police Sgt. Joseph Furry would not say what the graffiti said because police are still conducting an investigation.

Superintendent Steven Kellner said in a letter this morning to parents that the threat was found in a second floor boys bathroom and was specific to today.

Kellner said no immediate threat exists, but that school officials would be working with police Tuesday afternoon to determine whether to have classes Wednesday.

An increased law enforcement presence will remain in place at the campus for the next few days, police said.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call Sebastopol police at 707 -829-4400.
