Repeat DUI Offender Arrested Following Citizen Tip
The Petaluma man allegedly was swerving on Hwy 101 before parking at restaurant, drinking alcohol and urinating in the parking lot, cops say

PETALUMA, CA – A Petaluma man with a DUI record was arrested Sunday night for alleged impaired driving, after tes ting three times over the legal limit, after a citizen reportedly spotted the suspect swerving on Highway 101 before parking at a restaurant, drinking alcohol and urinating in the parking lot, authorities said.
The Petaluma Police Department was called at 11:19 p.m. to a fast-food eatery on the 800 block of East Washington Street after a motorist reported and then trailed a driver who purportedly was swerving “all over the road” and was nearly forced off the 101 before stopping in the parking lot, the department said.
"The citizen followed the driver to the restaurant, where he was then seen drinking from an open container and exiting to urinate," police said.

The suspect, Javier Cab, 36, who has at least two prior DUI arrests and no valid driver license, gave a preliminary breath test that allegedly revealed he was at least three times the legal limit of .08 percent, the department said, adding that open containers of alcohol were found in his vehicle.
Cab refused an evidential chemical test, however, so officers obtained a search warrant for his blood sample, police said.
