Roadways Flooded, Evacuations May Be Necessary: Petaluma Police

Due to roadway conditions, fallen debris and heavy rain, the Petaluma Police Department urged everyone to stay home and limit driving.

PETALUMA, CA — Flooding forced the closure of multiple roads Monday morning in Petaluma, and some residents were told to prepare for evaucations, according to police.

Police advised residents to avoid the following roadways because of localized flooding: Lakeville Street between East D Street and Caulfield Lane, Jefferson Street between Lakeville and Wilson streets, and Lindberg Lane between Payran Street and Lakeville Street.

"Due to roadway conditions, fallen debris, and heavy rain, the Petaluma Police Department is urging everyone to stay home and limit driving under hazardous conditions," police said in a news release.

Further, residents of Leisure Lake, Lindberg Lane and East Court were encouraged to prepare for evacuations as needed.
