North Bay Man Reports His Car Stolen, Ends Up Arrested For Bank Hold-Up
The Mill Valley man was a suspect in the robbery of a Bank of America in Sausalito. [Breaking]

MARIN COUNTY, CA – A Mill Valley man was arrested Tuesday for a bank robbery last month after he went to the Sausalito Police Department to report his car was stolen.
Colin Michael Kane, 29, was arrested for the Nov. 8 robbery of the Bank of America at 663 Tamalpais Drive in Corte Madera.
The robber threatened violence with a weapon but did not show one, and was seen getting into a cab after the robbery, Central Marin Police Authority spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher said.

He left the bank with cash, and evidence collected at the scene resulted in the identification of the suspect, police said. Police had identified Kane as the robbery suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest Tuesday.
When Kane showed up at the Sausalito Police Department around 9 p.m. Tuesday to report his car was stolen, he was arrested for the bank robbery, Rohrbacher said.

He was being held today in Marin County Jail under $300,000 bail and was scheduled to be arraigned this morning.
