Sonoma County Extends Candidate Deadline For Nov. 2 Election

Multiple incumbents are not seeking re-election, leaving seats open for a number of special-district offices throughout Sonoma County.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office announced Monday that candidate nominations for several special-district offices have been extended through Wednesday because one or more of the incumbents did not file for re-election in the Nov. 2 consolidated general election.

Offices for which nominations have been extended until Wednesday include:

  • Occidental Community Services District short-term (one seat);
  • Camp Meeker Recreation and Park District (three seats);
  • Russian River Recreation and Park District full-term (one seat);
  • Russian River Recreation and Park District short-term (one seat);
  • Forestville Water District (two seats);
  • Rains Creek/Hiatt Road County Water District (three seats); and
  • Sonoma Mountain County Water District (two seats).

Non-incumbent candidates for any of the above offices have until 5 p.m. Wednesday to file nomination papers at the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office, 435 Fiscal Drive, Santa Rosa.
