Artist’s Statement

Each project begins with an emotive exploration of my mind, environment and materials at hand, proceeding from instinct rather than from reason. I work strictly by combining two and three dimensional objects to allow for more impulsive, process-based production and transformation over time. Constant physical interaction is necessary for the intimate, visceral development each piece requires. I aim to present work that can be individually interpreted by the audience without my personal ideas being interjected. It is important that I stress the beauty of the pure act of making and manipulating materials.
