Best and Worst Bay Area Suburbs for Millennials

With data provided by Niche.com, a neighborhood review website, SFGate ranks the 15 best and 15 worst neighborhoods in the Bay Area for Millenials getting ready to start a family. (1) Some of the criteria include quality of public schools, cost of living, percentage of residents under the age of 15, crime rates and higher education rates.

According to the ranking, Piedmont ranks as the number two suburb in the California and number 1 in the Bay Area. Piedmont gets an overall grade of A+ from Niche, with A+ for public schools and good for families, A for nightlife, B for crime and safety and diversity, but a D for real estate affordability.

All Bay Area suburbs received a D ranking for real estate affordability, and all of the top 15 suburbs received an A+ in public schools. In fact, there are not great differences in the rankings among the top 15 suburbs, but Piedmont does have an extremely high ranking for higher education at 84 percent, and gets an A+ for diversity.
