Books! Books! Books!

Another successful Havens Back to School Book Drive

Thank you to all of our Havens Elementary community for your generous donations during our annual Back to School Book Drive. We collected about 1500 books, all of which were donated to East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC). Erica Bachman from EBAC sent us these photos of teachers at the Hawthorne Family Resource Center on the campus of World and Achieve Academies. “You would believe how excited these teachers are with the treasure trove of books!” she told us. “The Healthy Start kids at Sequoia Elementary were equally thrilled with their bounty.”

Havens Community Service Crew is proud to bring this and many other service activities to Havens Elementary School. The book drive is a great way to start out the school year: it gives students a chance to start with a fresh shelf for books at home and it sets and example of service for the school year. Havens Community Service Crew offers monthly after school and weekend service projects to all elementary students grades K-5. Email us at havenscrew@gmail.com
