City Of Piedmont: Gubernatorial Recall Election - 9/14

On September 14, 2021, there will be an election to determine whether the Governor of the State of California should be recalled (removed) from office as well as to choose his successor should he be recalled.

The recall ballot will ask two questions:

1. Do you want to recall the Governor (remove him from office)?

• If 50% or more vote NO, the governor would remain in office.
• If more than 50% vote YES, the governor would be removed from office and the candidate with the most votes on the second question would replace him.

• Voters can select one of the candidates listed on the ballot or write in a candidate who has qualified for the ballot.

Voters can vote on either one or both parts of the recall ballot. More information on the recall process is available on the Secretary of State’s web site.

Vote By Mail Election

This election will be held in a similar fashion to the November 2020 General Election and all registered voters in California have been mailed ballots, which should have been received at this point, along with the Voter Information Guide.

Voters may drop Vote By Mail ballots in the secure ballot box located on Highland Way near the mailboxes 24 hours a day up to and including Election Day. Click to view a map of the Ballot Drop Boxes in Alameda County. Voters may also turn in Vote By Mail ballots to any Accessible Voting Location in Alameda County on Election Day. Voters can check the status of their ballot by visiting the Alameda County Registrar of Voters Voter Profile page.

The Veterans’ Memorial Building will serve as an Accessible Voting Location for this election. Any resident of Alameda County can come to the Veterans’ Hall and cast their ballot or drop off their Vote By Mail ballot. The nearly 100 accessible voting locations throughout Alameda County will be open from September 11th through Election Day, September 14th.
