College Town Restaurant Favorites: Berkeley's 10 Most Popular Restaurants

According to College Magazine Online(1) Berkeley’s top restaurant for college students is “Top Dog.” It’s open late, perfect for rewarding yourself after a long night of studying or taking a break during your pre-finals all-night study session.
Other favorite restaurants for the college crowd include Gypsy’s, an Italian restaurant known for it’s delicious calzones, and outside dining in the courtyard makes for a romantic setting. Indian Flavors Express is for the experienced Indian food lover, not shy of very spicy dishes. Sliver serves great pizza, with one specialty served per day. Bleecker Bistro is known for it’s great breakfasts. Chez Panisse is the place your parents can take you to when they are visiting, it is known as a special occasion restaurant by college students.
King Pin serves donuts and pasteries, great for satisfying the munchies and getting through that late-night study session. Cream serves ice cream sandwiches made with cookies, a great treat. Remy’s has taco Tuesdays, a popular night for the locals, and Montagues combines two college student favorites, great sandwiches and video games.
