Free Child Development Workshop: All About Our Bodies
Join us for a free child care workshop on child development. In this two-part series, we'll discuss children's exploration of their bodies.
As children get older, they begin to explore the world in new ways. This may include exploration of their bodies. While sexual curiosity is a natural part of a child’s development, it can make many adults uncomfortable. A lot of teachers—and parents—haven’t had the opportunity to receive training around this topic and attitudes differ about how to respond. In this workshop we we’ll look at what influences our response to children’s sexual development, such as our values, cultures, and concerns. We’ll learn how we can support children in healthy ways and communicate effectively and comfortably with parents. This training will also include resources for finding more information about sexuality development for young children as well as current reporting laws.
Series dates: 3/24 and 3/31
