Man Killed in Oakland Apartment Fire Tuesday Identified
The man was pulled from the building, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A man killed by a fire in his Oakland apartment Tuesday morning was identified today as 58-year-old Holies Ho, according to the Alameda County coroner’s bureau. Ho was found as firefighters responded at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday to smoke showing from an apartment building at 635 E. 15th St., near the intersection with Seventh Avenue just east of Lake Merritt.
Ho was unresponsive in the apartment’s front living room and hallway area as firefighters entered the apartment, Oakland fire acting Battalion Chief Dino Torres said. They pulled him from the building, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
