The Havens Community Service Crew introduced a new program in March: sending care packages to military personnel via the chaplain for the Joint Special Operations Command. We had 15 students after school on the first Tuesday in March to help make thank you cards and assemble packs of sweet treats for our armed forces. Katie Gudiksen, HCSC core crew member and Havens mom, gave a quick presentation of the beneficiaries of the effort and informed the kids of why they were doing the activity. Students then wrote lovely messages of gratitude and praise on cards that accompanied bags of their favorite candies. A wonderful afternoon of service was had by all for our service
