Skyline Community Church is partnering with Ecstatic Dance of Oakland to offer a family friendly, interfaith celebration in honor of the summer solstice. Participants will be invited to dance, enjoy hearing and making music, savor a potluck feast, and honor peace and justice in our world. Participants, please bring food or drink to share, casual clothes, a musical instrument, & joy! A donation of $15-$20 is requested, and no one is turned away for lack of funds. Really. A portion of the proceeds will support the education of homeless children in Oakland through Community Education Partners. Hosting the evening and leading the dancing, potluck and solstice celebration at 5 is Rev. Laurie Manning, pastor of Skyline. “We will not only celebrate the summer solstice, but come together in community especially in this time of loss and divisiveness in our country”, says Pastor Laurie. “This event can be your opening, your healing, your expression of joy, or your peace. All are welcome – all faiths, sexual orientations, ages.”Leading the dancing from 6 – 8 PM is Donna Carroll, founder of Ecstatic Dance. “I am passionate about dance as the glue that brings people together. We need this especially right now. I am committed to helping millions of people dance all over the world.”
