Marcos Salas, 28, was arrested on suspicion of attempting to burglarize a home in the 8100 block of Terrace Drive.

Police have arrested a man in connection with a recent attempted burglary in El Cerrito. Officers responded at 8:15 p.m. Thursday to a residence in the 8100 block of Terrace Drive on a report by a woman that an unknown suspect was breaking into her home, police said.
The woman, who was home alone, called 911 after hearing the suspect and seeing him on her front porch, police said. The man fled the area as officers were arriving on the scene.
The suspect, later identified as Marcos Salas, 28, of Oakland, was taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of attempting to burglarize a home, fleeing officers and violation probation, police said.
