Oakland Rent Comparisons: What You Can Get for Around $3,000

According to Curbed San Francisco’s regular column called “Curbed Comparisons” (1) there is a range of sizes and locations available for around $3,000 per month in Oakland. Here is a summary.

The Oakmore neighborhood offers a 1,200 square feet, two-bedroom, one-bath condo for $2,850 per month. The unit is sunny, with laminate and carpeted floors, a bathroom with a double sink and a small balcony off the living room. Cats and small dogs are allowed.

In the Hoover Foster neighborhood is a three-bedroom, one-bath duplex near the freeway. It is 1,400 square feet ad offered at $2,995 per month. The charming unit has a fireplace, hardwood floors and lots of windows. The exterior is painted bright blue with white trim.

If you want something much bigger for the same price, check out the 2,800 square foot unit with 26-foot ceilings, 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. It is a 2 story unit in the historic Pacific Union Laundry building. All for $3,000 per month. This unit is also in the Hoover Foster neighborhood.

If you are looking for something more modern, check out the 722 square foot one bedroom condo in the Broadway Grand area for $2,850 per month. A prominent feature is that it is a ground floor unit which opens onto the building’s courtyard. It is also four blocks west of Lake Merritt and allows dogs and cats.

And finally, in West Oakland another loft with 2 bedrooms and one bathroom and 985 square feet for $2,895 per month located in the Lampwork Lofts building. It has 25 foot ceilings but the lighting looks minimal.
