Police Training Exercise At Piedmont High School
The exercise is already underway and will continue until 11 p.m.
PIEDMONT, CA — A training exercise is underway inside Alan Harvey Theater at Piedmont High School. The Oakland Police Department plans to continue the exercise until 11:00 p.m. The Piedmont Unified School District has a strong partnership with local police and readily agreed to support their training programs by providing access to the empty theater, according to an alert from Alameda County.
The theater, which is slated for demolition starting April 13, provides a rare opportunity for police training, according to the alert. During the day, there will be uniformed officers in the area and police vehicles parked in the driveway between the theater and PHS 10s building, so you may notice the police presence.
Signs are posted around the Magnolia Campus alerting people that police training exercises are underway.
